Words from Founder

My family was from Taiwan although I was born in Brazil where my father led his family to do business. With a mind to preserve our Chinese roots, our family moved back to Taiwan when I was seven.  From Brazil to Taiwan, and finally settled in Los Angeles in 2004, I am just like one of the many new immigrants who came to the United States to pursue the "American Dream". 

我的家人來自台灣. 但是因為七十年代我父親帶領他的家人在巴西做生意，我出生在巴西。不過為了保留中國文化和思想，我們全家在我7歲時搬回台灣了。從巴西到台灣，美國留學後回台灣工作，最後在2004年決定定居在洛杉磯。就像許多新移民一樣，我遠離家鄉來美國，就是為了能夠追求所謂的“美國夢”。

American Dream = the ideals of freedom, equality, and opportunity traditionally held to be available to every American.  美國夢 = 每個美國人都享有自由，平等和機會。(Source: Dictionary.com)  

Even though America is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, most people have money problems.  美國是世界上最富有的國家之一，但諷刺的是大多數美國人都有金錢問題。

The majority of people can not stop worrying about running out of money even when they work hard all their lives. 我們大多數人一生都很努力工作，但仍然不能停止擔心錢會用完。

Using myself as an example, I was considered pretty successful in many people's eyes when I became a bank's Vice President & Branch Manager. I was earning much more than the median household income. But, in reality, I was barely breaking even with my family's fundamental expenses.  以我自己為例，當我成為副總裁兼銀行分行經理時，在許多人眼中，我被認可是非常成功的，收入遠遠高於美國平均家庭收入。然而，事實上我的收入幾乎沒有辦法滿足我家庭的基本生活費用。
